The Watershed Institute

Logo of Watershed Institute The Watershed Institute program, www.thewatershedinstitute.org, seeks to enhance a vibrant network of citizen-based watershed organizations throughout New Jersey that are engaged in protecting precious water resources and natural lands. The Institute provides tailored advice, administers a grant program, hosts educational forums for organizations, and acts as a clearinghouse of information for New Jersey watershed groups. There are over 30 watershed groups throughout New Jersey that promote the protection of our local waterways. The Institute serves as a channel to provide assistance and information groups need to effectively organize, understand, and protect and restore their watersheds.

The Benefits of the Watershed Institute Program:

The Watershed Institute website features a capacity building section that seeks to provide valuable resources on non-profit management issues and is organized into 5 sections: Administrative, Fundraising & Grants, Governance, Program Development, and Visibility. The website also features a watershed programs section that assembles and shares watershed management related programs and issues that cross all watersheds. We also post their events and other programmatic training opportunites.

Join the NJCWA email listserv!

The Watershed Institute/NJCWA Listserv went down on April 10 and could not be recovered. We are researching options to get the listserv up and running again. Please check back for updates. We greatly appreciate your patience as we work to recreate the listserv.

This email group is aimed specifically at people involved with watershed organizations throughout New Jersey, to provide them with a forum to share their ideas, successes and concerns. Every Friday, a weekly announcement is distributed to inform groups of upcoming events, new funding opportunities, and resources to assist your organization's efforts.
