Robbinsville (formerly Washington Township)

Home > Managing A Watershed > Supporting Municipalities > Robbinsville

On November 6, 2007, voters approved renaming Washington Township (Mercer County) after Robbinsville, the historic village that lies at the heart of this fast-growing municipality. With six other Washington Townships in the state, concerns were increasing about the potential for confusion.  This momentous occurence was noted in the New York Times.

The official date of the Washington Township to Robbinsville name change is January 1, 2008.

Robbinsville has not yet entered the Association’s Program for Municipal Excellence.

For information about the municipality, please go to their website.
