River-Friendly Yard SignThe Association’s River-Friendly Resident Certification Program provides education and guidance to residents throughout the watershed in order to assist them in furthering their environmental stewardship. By becoming River-Friendly, citizens work to create a responsible, healthy, and beautiful living area, while helping to enhance the environmental quality in their community.

Becoming River-Friendly is easy! Simply fill out the Checklist to outline practices you currently do at home.  Implement any additional practices, if needed, to help you reach the target River-Friendly score.  Return your completed survey to the Association to receive your River-Friendly yard sign.

Here’s what some River-Friendly Residents are saying:

"I use only natural, biodegradable products on the property and encourage my neighbors to do the same." ~ Hopewell Township

We leave more than half of the yard natural and try to plant a variety of plants to provide food and coves for the birds, insects, and other wildlife. ~ Cranbury Township

To us the perfect yard is not a weed-free, manicured yard, it’s a well-maintained and beautiful yard that blends well with our natural surroundings. ~ Montgomery Township

We have a beautiful ¾ acre property with giant trees, flowering bushes for the deer, and the only spot spraying we do is with natural pesticides.  In general we let nature do all the work! ~ Princeton Township
