Why:In Phase III of this multi-phase stream habitat restoration project of Pike Run, we will be further stabilizing Pike Run's stream banks near the recently restored wetland meadow & instream structures.

Volunteers will plant:
1000 native live stakes of dogwood, willow and virburnum
over approximately 850 linear feet of stream bank.

These plants will serve to:
  • filter pollutants from stormwater before it reaches Pike Run,
  • stabilize the banks,
  • grow to become good stream edge fish habitat, and
  • shade the stream

  • Follow this link for more information about the complete restoration project.
