Stony Brook-Millstone Watershed Association presents the
Seventh Annual Butterfly Festival
Saturday, August 11, 2007
10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on the
Watershed Reserve in Pennington, NJ
|
This family festival is all about demonstrating environmental alternatives, featuring local food
resources, and empowering fair-goers to learn more about earth friendly practices while
having fun.
At the center of the event is the Kate Gorrie
Memorial Butterfly House abounding with the last generation of Monarchs before they head on their
long migration south for the winter.
Our vendors include energy demonstrations by utility companies, alternative fuel and
power companies, New Jersey organic produce, dairy and livestock farmers, local green businesses and
local crafters of natural items from soaps to wool.
The Association also coordinates a children’s butterfly costume contest, games and crafts, tours of the Butterfly House, naturalist-led hikes, live music, food vendors and more!
