Our work would not be possible without the help and support of our dedicated volunteers! Volunteer opportunities are available between the hours of 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. Monday through Saturday. Conservation
Conservation Volunteer
Help keep our trails and grounds in good condition. Clear brush and invasive plants. Assist with light carpentry, painting and other upkeep and maintenance tasks.
TrailWatch Volunteer
Join our TrailWatch team and help regularly monitor and maintain the more than 10 miles of trails on our 860-acre Watershed Reserve.

Advocacy
Community Events Volunteer
Assist Watershed Association staff in your community at public events throughout the year. No experience necessary, but familiarity with our work and mission a plus.
Community Action Volunteer
Help Watershed Association staff review site plan applications and advocate for environmental ordinances in your community. Great for retired engineers, planners, residents with experience on their local Environmental Commission or Planning Board, and others with land use law, community activism and other planning experience.

Science
Reforestation / Restoration Assistant
Help restore eroded stream banks and plant vegetation to prevent further problems.
StreamWatch Volunteer
Join the Biological Action Team, Chemical Action Team or Bacteria Monitoring program to monitor local waterways at assigned locations within our watershed. Data entry volunteers also needed.

Education
Associate Naturalist / Teacher Naturalist
Help lead a public program for Nature Center visitors or assist with visiting school programs.
Butterfly House Volunteer
Gardeners, naturalists and caretakers needed.
Birthday Party Volunteer
Conduct themed nature hikes using a prepared curriculum on Saturdays for private children’s parties.
Critter Care Assistant
Help care for the small animals of the Nature Center. Age 12+
Nature Shop Assistant
Create seasonal shop displays, perform shop inventory and item pricing.
Receptionist
Monitor the front desk at the Nature Center, greet visitors, answer phones and direct calls. Assist with Nature Shop sales. Help needed Monday through Saturday.

Administration
Event / Public Program Assistant
Assist staff with preparations for events, including professional development workshops, the Butterfly Festival and Watershed FEST, as well as at the event itself. Or help us prepare for our preschool or after school programs. Age 14+
Mailing Assistant
Copy, fold, stuff envelopes or address, stamp and seal bulk mailings.
Photographer/Viodeographer
Work with Watershed Association staff to photograph and/or record Watershed Association events and programs, natural scenes in our watershed, or other “per assignment” projects for the organization.
English to Spanish Translator
Translate printed materials into Spanish.

Corporate and Organization Work Days
Depending on your specific needs, we can design a volunteer workday for your group at our Watershed Reserve in Hopewell or in one of our 26 watershed communities.
