The restoration site photographed June 2003. The resulting restoration failed to achieve all of its natural functions, however. The site had a high proportion of large trees surrounding it, providing a tremendous amount of shade, as well as many roots that prevented a proper streambank grade to be obtained during the regrading process. The site was also located on a severe bend on Lewis Brook, which increased the water flow to a point that many of the shrubs and live stakes were washed away.
